He was running an hour late & I was starting to get worried. Levi & I had a game plan which we discussed several days before. We had planned to do it at around a certain time in the evening just when I felt the light was right for the location at The Linq Promenade. We had a system to communicate with each other so that even if Denise read the text I sent, she wouldn't suspect anything.
"Yo Fred, I'll be headed to the gym around 7pm so that'll be a good time to link up"
LOL I thought to myself as I pressed "send". I waited 30 minutes before I sent the next text.
"Fred, I'm here at the gym so its a perfect time to head down"
Still no reply. Keep in mind that this whole time, I'm standing around at the spot with my camera gear taking test shots, dialing in my exposure as the sun is setting. Not only is the lighting is changing with each passing minute, but people are starting to look at me like I'm some sort of creeper :(
Just when I started thinking things like "maybe he cancelled" & "maybe something went wrong", he messages me.
"Our food came out late but we'll be there soon"
I was relieved that we were still on but at the same time I was worried that lighting the scene would be difficult. I hadn't brought any light stand or tripod because I wanted to keep a low profile & I didn't wanna get harassed by security. That's when I decided I needed help.
I was looking for the right person & thank heaven I found her. Marissa was sitting close by Flour & Barley eating a pizza when I asked if she could be my assistant for the shoot. Thankfully she agreed & became my human light stand. Thanks a bunch Marissa!
They finally work their way down & I make eye contact with Levi. Denise has no idea what's going on & he pulls her to the spot. He starts off by saying something like, "Baby, let talk to you for a minute". That's the moment I think she realized what was happening & immediately started crying with excitement & joy. He got down on bended knee & as all the people walking by started clapping & cheering, she said yes!
After a happy moment of congratulations & introducing myself, we walked toward the High Roller, where we would eventually get on & finish our session. We also stopped at Sprinkles for some ice cream & photos.
I had a great time with these 2 & I can't wait for the wedding! Enjoy the rest of the photos.
